Exploration of the French Baroque repertoire through airs by Clérambault setting poems by Jean de La Fontaine, with Jean Rostand Middle School in Loon-Plage (Rectorat) and the town library.
"Project involving the choir and theater electives at Jean Rostand Middle School and the Loon-Plage media library, in partnership with Le Concert d'Astrée, a Baroque ensemble based in Lille.
Isabelle Rozier, classical voice teacher at Dunkirk Conservatory, worked with Le Concert d'Astrée with 8th-grade students for an introduction to Baroque music.
Students in the choir elective worked with the singer over three sessions to present ‘The Crow and the Fox’ and ‘The Frogs Who Asked for a King,’ sung in historical French.
Two fables were recited by theater elective students: ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’ by Nathanaël and Mathéo.
An original fable was also created by Lilie and Mathilde."
